Barbarians Project - The Ruin of Fate

Hello,

today I will show you the fourth and for now last ruin for my Barbarian Project.
This time it is a kind of evil portal, let's call it 'The Ruin of Fate'.

Preparation for priming:

I used tape that could easily be taken off after priming.
The chemicals from the spray will damage the styrofoam
that I used to build the stones and pillars.

Be carefull that everything is covered with tape.

The ruin after priming. The tape has been taken off, no damage
to the styrofoam.

Barbarians Project - even more terrain

Here we go with another generic fantasy ruin.
The terrain piece started as an old Ziterdes piece. I used styrofoam to add some new pillars.

Barbarians Project - New Protagonists

The last night I managed to finish two new barbarian characters. These were handpicked from my lead mountain as I like both of them very much.

The handsome guy with the huge sword is called "Grona" and he will be the leading character in a warband I plan to adventure the world of fantasy using Song of blades and heroes.

The big barbarian with the two handed axe is called "Osna" and he is the brother of "Sheera". Osna isn´t really intelligent but is strong and brutal and so makes the perfect addition to the group.

Sheera will follow next. For the Hollywood fans of you it might be relevant that Sheera is the lover of Grona, though for the real man out there this fact doen´t really matter as the story will focus on the battlefield of steel and not the battlefield of love...

Enjoy

Stay tuned to follow the Barbarian Adventures!

Barbarian Terrain

What does a real barbarian need more than a broadsword, body oil, a nearly naked princess to rescue and some poor chaps to slay?

You`re right, some terrain to pose on.

The tower ruin is a Ziterdes piece that got a new paint job. I used different grey tones to simulate natural stone. After that it got new static grass as the original grass was too greenish.

The rocks are from Ziterdes too. Same work on them as for the ruin.

The trees are from the German company NOCH. I put them on scratch build underground and used different pieces from my terrain bitz box.

The tower makes a perfect centerpiece for a "rescue the virgin" scenario. Maybe a good one for Song of Blades and Heroes.

More barbarian terrain in the pipeline

More dwarfs

I´ve painted more dwarfs.

The thief with the looting bag got a new beard sculpted as the original one wasn´t really great. The dwarf with the beer mug got a new sword as the original sword was a little miscasted. I really love the look and the character of the old Perry twins dwarfs. The thieves and adventurers really capture the feeling and story of a bunch that´s looking for more gold. Greedy little bastards!

Two more dwarfs from the same range. The thief with the grappling hook got a plastic pipe from a Games Workshop dwarfs plastic spure. You can find some really nice and useful bits in these sprues.

The last miniature for today is a Citadel ogre from Jes Goodwin. He was bought by the dwarfs for a little bag of gold on a slave market during their journey. A good deal for the gang. He will give them more fighting power when they have to fight an enemy in superior number. I like the look of the ball and chain weapon smeared with blood. He was given the name `Grong the Slave Ogre`.

I will use them for Song of blades and heroes and also for Overlanders in God of Battles. The pitfighter slave ogre will be used as cave bear in God of Battles.
